Mary Hoodless
Mary is the founder of Karoo Consultancy and Governance Assist.
Governance Assist was born from her and her colleagues’ work with Boards and the development of a deep understanding of the dearth of industry specific assistance and governance development supports for boards within the public health and not for profit sectors.
She is an experienced governance and organisational development consultant, specialising in the health, local governance, and not for profit sectors. Clients include public and not for profit services and health services, local governments, regional tourism organisations, community and education services, aged care and is herself Chair of the Regional Development Australia Murray Board.
Mary started her career in nursing and has many years of experience working as an executive in the public and not for profit health and community services sectors, prior to starting her own successful business.
Mary has extensive experience working on and with Boards, which led her to acquire a deep understanding of the needs of Boards that are both developing and high performing, with regard to performance review and capability development.
Mary is passionate about good governance and succession planning and has an exceptional ability to work with Boards to understand where they are at and what assistance will benefit them most.
Mary has a number of publications in national and international journals and holds tertiary and vocational qualifications, as a graduate of LaTrobe University’s masters of applied science (Research) program.
Frank Evans
Frank has over 30 years of executive leadership experience, with over 20 years in CEO roles within the Victorian public and not for profit health sectors.
He has been a transformational and entrepreneurial leader in the public, NFP and private sectors. He is also an experienced organisational development consultant having undertaken consulting projects for government departments at both a State and Commonwealth level.
Frank has considerable experience working in director roles on health and education related boards including health, disability and adult and continuing education, including TAFE and industry advisory boards and councils. He is passionate about leadership development, at all levels, and is an MBTI administrator, an IECL Certified Organisational Coach and trained team coach. He is also a Qualified, Minds at Work, ITC Map facilitator.
Frank is a graduate of UNE’s Doctor of Health Service Management program, which included PhD level research.
Frank has an interesting publication record, including an academic book: Evans, F., Han, G. & Madison, J., (2006), Healthcare Reform & Interest Groups: The Case of Rural Australia, University Press of America, Lanham, USA.
Peter Craighead OAM
Peter is a dynamic and enormously successful health sector CEO.
He has over 30 experience as a CEO in Victorian Public Health sector including over 20 years as CEO of large regional health services.
Peter has considerable experience working in director roles, including over a decade on the Victorian Healthcare Association Board. He has been called upon by Government Ministers to act in positions such as Administrator and or CEO in cases of significant governance and or management failure within the health sector. Peter’s performance in re-establishing sound governance, operational management and financial stability for these services has been outstanding.
Peter is a Principal of Alberton Consulting and is an experienced health consultant working for both State and Commonwealth governments, including undertaking governance and structural reviews of a number of public health services.
Peter is passionate about working with Boards, both developing and high performing.
